California Senator Sabrina Cervantes Impone for DUI charging

Summary

California Sabrina Sabrina Cervantes maintains from the outset that she is not drunk or drugs after being cited as DUI.

Prosecutors will not charge DUI against California Sen. Sabrina CervantesAfter a blood test showed that “no” measurable amounts of medicines or alcohol in its system “after a crash last week in Sacramento of several blocks of capitol.

“We have reviewed all the evidence presented, including police reports, statements by witnesses and laboratory results. Based on our ethical obligation and the burden of proof in a criminal process, the Sacrato County Office refuses to raise any charges in this case,” said Shelley Orio, a spokesman for the District Prosecutor’s Office.

The announcement is revenge on Cervantes, a 37-year-old Democrat from the Riverside area. She maintained from the outset that she had not been disturbed and that the police officers from Sacramento had “summoned” her to a hospital, where she was detained for several hours.

Cervantes did not immediately answer a request for comment today.

The Sacramento Police Department replied with an email statement in response to a Calmatters interview request.

“During their interaction with Senator Cervantes, they observed objective signs that made them believe that it may have been broken while driving a motor vehicle,” police said. “The officers remained professional all the time, taking the time to explain the process and answer all the senator’s questions.”

Employees said Cervantes initially declined to participate in office sobriety tests. Therefore, they asked for a Cervantes order to obey a blood test and told Cervantes that they had asked for one.

“While the order is written and processed, the senator has agreed to voluntarily provide a blood sample, but since the order of the order was already being held employees until it was signed by a judge before continuing with the withdrawal of blood, which was carried out by a licensed phlebotomist,” the police said.

The catastrophe on May 19 happened around 1:00 pm, less than an hour before it was to be on the floor of the state legislative body.

Last week, CalMatters examined footage from the office security camera nearby, which appears to show that Cervantes is not guilty of the crash.

The footage shows a white SUV, which rolls through a stop sign and climbs into the black sedan of Cervantes at the intersection of the 14th and S streets in Midtown Sacramento. Cervantes seems to have had the right on the road while driving east on S.

Sacramento police did not say whether the other driver was quoted. Last week, CalMatters applied for public records, looking for frames from a body camera and police reports.

In the statement, police said he would release some documents later on Friday and were still processing others.
