I’d be more upset about the Dodgers playing in another World Series if they weren’t so much fun to watch. I mean, Shohei Ohtani is the best baseball player in the history of the sport, Mookie Betts is one of my favorite players of all time, and Freddie Freeman is one of the best left-handed hitters I’ve ever seen. Then there’s Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who throws 100 mph, yet not a single pitch from him is straight.
But I understand if you’re tired of seeing the Dodgers play baseball in October. They won it last year, and this is the team’s fifth World Series appearance in the past nine years. So, join me on the Blue Jays bandwagon! Toronto is playing in its first World Series since winning back-to-back titles in the 1990s. They got here thanks to superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. going on an absolute tear in the postseason and George Springer hitting the biggest home run in franchise history since Joe Carter’s hit in 1993.
The World Series will be broadcast on Fox and streamed on Fox’s new direct-to-consumer streaming service, Fox One. Here’s everything you need to know about how to watch or stream the rest of the baseball playoffs without cable.
Shohei Ohtani is the only player in baseball history to hit 10 batters and hit three home runs in a game, a feat he accomplished in his final game to take the Dodgers back to the World Series.
Toronto finished the season with the best record in baseball and has home-field advantage. The first two games of the World Series will be played in Toronto before moving to Los Angeles for the next three games. If the series goes beyond five games, Games 6 and 7 will be played at Rogers Center in Toronto.
